Leather

Ohtisii’s leather goods pieces are handmade from a variety of spectacular leathers that were tanned in a variety of methods. We are sharply specific on the leathers we source - whether cow, deer, moose, elk, or bison - and how it was tanned. We use full-grain leather - typically around 3-4oz weight. This leather can be finished in different ways - pigments, colours, finishes, and more.

To Maintain:
• Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to remove surface dust.
• Avoid soaking or prolonged exposure to water. If it becomes wet, blot gently and let air dry naturally.
• Condition occasionally with a leather conditioner to restore suppleness and prevent drying. Use sparingly.
• Avoid contact with oils, inks, or alcohol-based products — these may stain permanently.

Our leathers were made from once living, breathing animals. We take extreme care to ensure that we respect the animal that once walked this earth and shared itself with us. We encourage you to feel that same connection and look to embrace gratitude for the flora and fauna of our world that shares its beauty with us. We are truly lucky to use these natural materials.

Suede

Many of our pieces are crafted and lined with suede, including deerskin, lambskin, or calfskin. These are delicate, luxurious leathers known for its irreplaceable soft and plush feel. With the right care and attention, suede will maintain its unmistakable quality for many years to come. Here are some specific tips to help you maintain your suede:

To Maintain:
• Avoid overfilling or stretching the form — this protects the suede from unnecessary stress.
• Keep the interior clean and free from oils, pens, cosmetics, or anything that could stain or mark.
• If dust or debris collects inside, use a soft suede brush or gentle vacuum with a clean brush attachment.
• Avoid water exposure. If the suede becomes damp, allow it to air dry away from direct heat.

Jewellery

Ohtisii’s accessories are made out of truly special woods. Their unique colours, grains, and characters provide a spectacular medium to represent the patterns and designs of our culture and motifs. Typically, we use a wood called “Chakte Kok” or Redheart. All of our wood products are sanded and finished with a finish called “TopOil” by a company called Osmo.

Osmo TopOil is a hardwax oil finish for wood surfaces made entirely from natural plant oils and waxes and is food safe/skin safe once cured (per DIN EN 1186 standard – European food contact safety).

These pieces, being made of wood, are delicate. The colour made fade with direct UV exposure. Otherwise, handle gently.
